Family Fun Trail

Did you know that Tenterden has a Family Fun Trail you can follow to find out more about the town and its historical locations? You can pick up a paper copy in the Museum, or download it for yourself HERE.

When you have completed the Trail, pop into the Museum to collect your Wheels of Time Badge and have some fun.

If you can’t visit the Museum in person, you can collect a Wheels of Time eBadge by successfully completing the quiz HERE.

There are lots of things for children to do in the Museum.

There are three different quizzes for children of all ages, including the ever-popular Mouse Trail.  Following a sheet of clues, you have to find the mice and see if you can answer the question that the mice are asking.  Dotted around the Museum are some fun activities for children to do: guess “What’s in the Box”, play “Haul Away” or “Trap the Rat”.  In our Kids Activity Zone there is table space for children to draw or colour and get hands on with some artefacts they can play with.  They can collect a Wheels of Time badge here and get the latest information about the other museums they can visit in Kent.

Working with Schools

The Museum works closely with local schools and teachers.  Our Schools Co-ordinator is happy to visit your school to support your teaching of local history, and private visits can be made to the Museum to study artefacts relating to topics on the National Curriculum.
